Photo Essay 1

The subject of this photo essay is plant life over April vacation. I selected this topic because when it was assigned spring was beginning and most trees and flowers were blooming and flourishing.  The lifetime of flowers in the spring may be evanescent but while in bloom I find them to be the most beautiful part of nature. In this essay of photos I am trying to portray to viewers the beauty of plant and flower life, the way I see it during spring. Visually, my images tell a story of life from beginning to end. They show the initial blooming of the trees and flowers and follow their development until petals begin to fall and deteriorate until a new breed of flower begins to bloom. I feel like it shows life as a circle beginning with birth, then through life, finally death, and birth and life again. The arrangement of these images portray this circle of life. Besides the initial meaning, i chose to take all photos under natural lighting and mostly at mid day. I was not as focused on the shadow that the objects cast as much as i was the vibrancy that each plants color had. This seemingly meaningless arrangement of images with a slightly deeper look is truly an arrangement of divine life during spring time and the constant circle of life that occurs as nature develops.
